Flax

Since Marieke joined The Linen Stewards in 2020, flax has been one of the main materials she works with.
Marieke: "After a 'bad harvest' in 2020, I felt the challenge to see what other uses there are with flax than the usual linen yarn. Growing and processing the flax myself taught me to think outside the box. I think it is important to get to know and fathom a material in all its possibilities, so for me there is no such thing as a good or bad crop. Every year has its own qualities!"
